Today in The Music of New Coke; Madonna’s “Crazy For You” from the VISION QUEST Soundtrack, which would eventually overtake “We Are the World” for the number #1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100.Â
Just kidding, I’m not going to subject anyone to what I find the least interesting song in Madonna’s catalog — which says quite a lot considering how boring American Life is — despite being it one of her biggest hits.Â
Instead, here is the B-side for “Crazy for You” and one of my favorite Madonna songs, “Gambler”, also from the VISION QUEST Soundtrack. Going with the video instead of just an audio stream of the song, because we can all agree Matthew Modine working out to a driving beat is better than than no Matthew Modine working out. Â
Too bad one cannot suck down a New Coke while making weight for a wrestling match. That would have made for some sexy ’80s product placement.
