Room in the schedule you say...
While discussing the Steelers 2010 schedule with the rest of the THUNDERDOME League in an email thread (5000 emails and counting over the past couple of years*), Pat from WHYGAVS was quick to point out that the final Steeler home game of the regular season is Thursday December 23, leaving plenty of room for Heinz Field and the Penguins to host the Winter Classic on January 1, 2011.
Sounds like a solid theory to me.
*5000 is just an estimate, but probably not that far off.
